
FIRST RULE OF DMVI: NO BODYCHECKS/COLLISIONS. This tournament is designed for fun and enjoyment by all. Our goal is for all involved to have a positive and healthy experience.

| Game Start | All games will start and stop on a central horn. Any team not on the field and ready to play within 1 minute after the horn will start the game defending a fast break. |

| Whistle Starts Play | No self-starts allowed. Whistle starts play after dead ball (Start of Game, Penalties, Out of Bounds, and Goals) |
| Face-off/Draw | To start game ONLY, All players other players except goalie behind goal line extended. Goalie remains in crease until possession is called. |
| After a Goal is Scored | Ball starts IN CREASE with GOALIE. Whistle starts play. 4 Second count applies from whistle. |
| Offsides | Goalie is not allowed to go over midfield. |
| Ball out of Bounds | Any time the ball goes out of bounds, possession is awarded to the team that did not touch it last regardless of player position (“closest to the ball”) |

| 5 Goal Margin | If EITHER TEAM, regardless of last goal is down by 5 goals or more, they are awarded the ball at midfield. This could cause the ball to be awarded to the team that just scored. |

| 1. NO BODYCHECKING OR COLLISIONS: All players must play the ball. No “man/ball”. Bodychecking an opponent to the ground will result in a fast break for the opponent as an unnecessary roughness penalty.
2. PENALTIES – All regular penalties are called. Time-serving Personal Fouls will require the offending player to leave the field for the fast break. Time-serving technical fouls will require a fast break but the offending player does NOT have to leave the field. Multi-minute and more than one foul on the same play will lead to a 3v1 fast break. 3. PENALTY ENFORCEMENT – 3 on 2/1 fast break from midfield. 1 non-offending midfielder begins 5 yards ahead of the midfield line. All other players begin behind the midline. All players released on a SINGLE whistle. 4. Advancement of the Ball (14U Boys Only) – 10-Second Count to advance ball past midfield. 5. Over-and-Back – Normal over-and-back rules will apply once ball crosses midfield. 6. One Pass Rule (8U and 10U Only) – One pass must be made/attempted anywhere, including goalie clear, before a shot can be taken |
