James Gardiner
BIO
Coach James Gardiner is a rising Division I midfielder and elite lacrosse trainer with experience competing at one of the top collegiate programs in the country. Currently a midfielder at the University of Maryland, Gardiner brings high-level athleticism, defensive versatility, and lacrosse IQ to every training session.
As a sophomore at Maryland, Coach Gardiner appeared in 12 games for the Terrapins, recording multiple caused turnovers while competing against some of the nation’s top programs. He forced turnovers against powerhouse opponents including Virginia and Notre Dame, showcasing his toughness, defensive instincts, and ability to impact the game at the Division I level.
Before Maryland, Coach Gardiner built an impressive résumé at Gonzaga College High School, where he established himself as one of the premier midfield specialists in the DMV area. He earned 2024 USA Lacrosse Academic All-American honors, was a two-time All-WCAC First Team selection, and received 2024 All-Met Second Team recognition. He was also named the 2024 All-DMV Specialist of the Year and Gonzaga’s Defensive Player of the Year while serving as team captain during his senior season. Gardiner helped lead Gonzaga to the 2024 WCAC Championship and competed for the nationally recognized DC Express club program.
Coach Gardiner specializes in midfield play, defensive footwork, conditioning, stick skills, transition play, ground balls, and overall lacrosse IQ development. His training sessions are designed to help athletes sharpen fundamentals, build confidence, and develop the discipline and work ethic needed to compete at the next level.
